Irish Indie Folk Artist & Songwriter

21-year-old Rowan Murphy is an alternative indie-folk singer-songwriter from Dundalk, Ireland, whose songs sit in the space between youthful openness and a striking emotional maturity. Her writing is intimate, poetic and often disarmingly direct, finding its way through love, loss, dependency and growing up without losing the sense of innocence and discovery at their heart.

Classically trained as a pianist and an accomplished guitarist, Murphy brings a strong musical foundation to songs that remain instinctive and unforced. Her debut EP, Fault on the Line, released in 2025, established her as an assured folk songwriter; its 2026 follow-up, Kaleidoscopes, pushed that sound into more alternative territory, with bolder production and a wider sonic palette while keeping the emotional clarity of her earlier work. Released through Nettwerk Music Group, the EP includes “Out of My League”, a collaboration with Australian singer-songwriter Riley Pearce.

That same contrast gives Murphy’s live performances their character. She can hold a room with little more than a voice and guitar, then move to electric and let something looser, sharper and more defiant emerge. Supporting The Frames, fronted by the late Glen Hansard, at their sold-out Spirit Store show in Dundalk in 2026, she walked onstage alone and quickly won over the room, with her songwriting praised for its maturity and the performance described as effortless.

With two EPs now released, Murphy is moving into the next phase of her work, with her debut album due in early 2027.
